Dental veneers (sometimes called porcelain veneers or dental porcelain laminates) are ultra-thin, custom-made shells of tooth-colored materials, typically porcelain, designed to cover the front surface of teeth to improve your appearance. These shells are bonded to the front of the teeth changing color, shape, size, or length. Although veneers are very thin, once bonded to your teeth they are indistinguishable from your tooth as the veneer becomes a part of your tooth and is substantially strong.
Dental veneers can be made from porcelain or from resin composite materials. Porcelain veneers resist stains better than resin veneers and better mimic the enamel-like translucency of natural teeth, creating a natural appearance.
We always ask that you explain to us the result that you are trying to achieve. During your appointment, we will examine your teeth to make sure dental veneers are appropriate for you and discuss what the procedure will involve and some of its limitations.
Dr. Chee will help you determine if veneers are the best treatment to achieve the resulting beautiful smile you desire.
